80 Day Obsession: The Halfway Mark & The Eye of the Storm

Welp! In Week 6, we welcomed both tougher workouts, a change in the nutrition plan, and a Category 5 Hurricane pointed directly at South Florida. Her name was Irma.

We aren’t rookies when it comes to hurricanes. Living in South Florida all of our lives, we have been directly impacted by a few large and powerful storms, including Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricane Wilma. All causing extreme disruption and damage to our communities and lives.

This time is quite different. Not only are we smack in the middle of our 80 Day Obsession journey but we have children. For the first time, this wasn’t a hurricane party, it was a matter of taking care of our kids. Ahhhh, the stress! And can I just be honest and say, I really wanted a drink. Just one. A little sip! But Autumn says, NO. Ok, fine. #Blah

But in the midst of all this uncertainty we continued to push forward with our nutrition and workouts. We made a commitment and we will succeed—NO MATTER WHAT.

While Danny was busy prepping multiple homes with shutters, our two boats, our jet skis and everything in between, I’d been on the hunt for water, gas, and what we will need for a potential 3 days of being locked indoors. That means lots of fruits, veggies, proteins and some serious prayer that our power didn’t go out, or at least not for an extended period of time.


80 Day Obsession Phase 2 Changes

Phase 2 has been quite the change in terms of workouts and the nutrition plan. The workouts are definitely harder and the movements more compound. While in Phase 1 we did squats, in Phase 2 you do squats, rows and oblique work all in one. HA! Seriously, tough stuff! The order of the workouts also changes which was a nice change of pace:

Phase 1 Workout Schedule

Monday: total body workout
Tuesday: butt workout
Wednesday: cardio
Thursday: arms, abs and butt workout
Friday: leg workout
Saturday: cardio
Sunday: rest

Phase 2 Workout Schedule

Monday: butt workout
Tuesday: cardio
Wednesday: total body workout
Thursday: leg workout
Friday: arms, abs and butt workout
Saturday: cardio workout
Sunday: rest

And this change in order of workouts is done on purpose because of a crazy, awesome addition to the nutrition plan.

Again, my lips are sealed, but I can say one thing: I ATE A CHEESEBURGER!

And not only did I eat a cheeseburger, I woke up the next day with my abs popping! So cool what happens when you just trust the process. There were lots of Test Group Coaches who were hesitant about the change, but I knew I could trust the science behind what we did—and it paid off big time.

I am also super happy to report that I am officially down 13 pounds and feeling amazing!

Oh, and in other news, this week is my 37th Birthday! I am pushing for a big goal by September 15th—let’s see if I can make it happen. Stay tuned!
